Explore the Beautiful Home of Natural Necessity

Just 2 hours south of Sydney on the beautiful South Coast of NSW, Gerringong is your perfect weekend getaway. The region is known for its spectacular beaches, rolling hills and vineyards, golf courses and walks, leaving you spoilt for choice on things to do. 

IN THE SUN

Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced surfer, Gerringong has you covered. Head to Seven Mile Beach if you’re after some easy waves and check out the local Surf School if you’re new to the water. If you’re a bit more experienced and after some local waves, the Point at the South End of Werri Beach is the place for you. Not keen on surfing? There’s still plenty of places to relax by the ocean! Explore the Ocean pools at Boat Harbour and the Ourie Pool at the South end of Werri Beach. Both perfect for families with picnic tables, wading pools or a children’s playgrounds. 

THINGS TO DO

Head into Natural Necessity Surf Shop for all your shopping, surfing, swimming and fashion needs! With 2 massive floors full of all the best surfboards, softboards, bodyboards and an entire floor dedicated to all of the latest surf fashion and swimwear. Whilst you spend the day shopping, pop into Natural Necessity’s inhouse café for your lunch break. I feel Good by Perfect Break is a delicious vegetarian/vegan café with everything from their legendary nachos to fresh juices and raw treats. 

GREAT OUTDOORS

For a beautiful scenic walk to get the best views of the coastline, do the Gerringong to Kiama Coastal Walk. Stretching approximately 20 kilometres from start to finish, however the walk can be broken up into smaller sections if you want to squeeze a few different activities into one day. The Kiama Coastal Walk can be divided into the North Section – Minnamurra River to Kiama Blowhole, Mid Section – Kiama Blowhole to Loves Bay, South Section – Loves Bay to Gerringong.



FOOD AND DRINK

For coffee by the beach, head down to The Kiosk at Werri Beach then check out Clay for some baked goods and handmade clay cups and serveware. The Hill Bar and Kitchen is a top spot overlooking Werri Beach, a great place to grab a burger and beer for lunch. Head to the beautiful Crooked River Winery on a Sunday afternoon for happy hour and live music and enjoy the stunning views of the vineyard with the rolling hills. If wine isn't your thing, the guys at Stoic Brewery will pour you a delicious locally brewed beer.

WHERE TO STAY

Plenty of options when it comes to accommodation, if you’re looking to self-cater there are a number of holiday parks and campsites to choose from. Werri Beach Holiday Park is located directly across the road from Werri Beach, walking distance to all the best attraction in Gerringong. There is also Discovery Parks in Gerroa if you’re looking to get out of the town.  There are a number of stylish holiday homes, rural retreats and seaside cottages to choose from such as Dovecote, Soul of Gerringong, Ocean Farm or Jerrymara Estate. There is also the iconic Mercure Gerringong Resort

GETTING THERE

Located 2 hours south of Sydney along the Princes Highway or take the stunning scenic route along the Grand Pacific Drive which will only take an extra 30 minutes. If driving isn’t your thing, you can jump on the train from Central Station in Sydney or from Wollongong and enjoy the coastal journey all the way to Gerringong train station.
